A Reflection on the Dakota Commemorative March
Rev. Jim Bear Jacobs, MCC Native American Relationships Organizer

We would like to extend a huge thank you to all who responded to the invite to participate in the Dakota Commemorative March. It truly was awe-inspiring to see such a large crowd committed to standing in solidarity and observe the sacred. I am confident that some crucial foundations were laid concerning continuing dialogue and community building.

As we look to the immediate future, the anniversary of the hanging of the 38 Dakota men quickly approaches. The public is invited to attend a ceremony of honoring and remembrance on December 26 in Mankato, Minn. There are also opportunities to support the Dakota 38-horse ride by volunteering or financial contributions.
