Minnesotans Standing Together

Minnesotans from every walk of life came together at the Capitol for this special ceremony to remember the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Together we honored the ideals of freedom and democracy, remembered and lamented our losses, and created hope. Leaders from more than 12 different faith communities offered words of consolation nd inspiration.

Government leaders, including Governor Dayton, Senator Amy Klobuchar, and other elected officials, members of law-enforcement, military, firemen, and EMS personnel represented those who serve. Participating musicians and artists included Brother Ali, Larry Long, and Sheila Raye Charles, and In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre. Local orchestra conductor Scott Winters directed an all-volunteer orchestra made up of some of the area’s top classical musicians.
